Milan Special School District is excited to announce that two outstanding educators from Milan Special School District, Jeni Moore and Brytany Stewart, have been selected to serve on Tennessee's 21-member Educator Advisory Team (EAT)! They will head to Nashville next week to review and help refine the state’s English Language Arts (ELA) standards.
Out of nearly 300 applicants, only 21 distinguished educators were chosen to be part of this important initiative, and we are incredibly proud to have not one, but two representatives from our district. Their experience and dedication will play a crucial role in shaping the future of ELA education in Tennessee.
The EAT members will work closely with other K-12 educators and higher education professionals from across the state in a collaborative, public-involved process held November 4-8th. The team will ensure our ELA standards are rigorous and reflect the needs of Tennessee students and teachers.
Congratulations to Jeni Moore and Brytany Stewart! Your hard work and commitment to educational excellence continue to make a positive impact on our community and beyond!

November menus are now available for each school. Check them out! 📅https://www.milanssd.org/documents/dining/578358

🌐 Digital Citizenship Week: Be Smart, Be Safe, Be Responsible! 🌐
This week, we celebrate Digital Citizenship Week! It's a great opportunity to teach and learn how to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. Here are some tips for students and families:
-Think Before You Share: Always consider the impact of your posts. Once something is online, it’s hard to take back!
-Respect Privacy: Keep your personal information private and encourage others to do the same.
-Be Kind Online: Treat others with respect in all your interactions. Remember, there's a real person behind the screen!
-Verify Before You Trust: Check the source of information before sharing. Misinformation spreads quickly!
-Know the Rules: Familiarize yourself with your school’s digital policies and guidelines.
-Ask for Help: If you encounter something uncomfortable online, don’t hesitate to talk to a trusted adult.
