Communication

Our department is committed to keeping our staff, families, and community updated on the latest district news and events. We believe that effective communication is essential for building strong relationships between our schools, families, and community.

Website

Our websites serve as the primary sources for district and school information and resources.

Photographing Students and Staff

Some of our students choose not to be photographed. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) allows students and families to opt out of the release of certain information about students, including photographs and videos. A building administrator must verify that these students have the proper release information on file before we can allow anyone to take photos and/or videos.

Social Media

Milan Special School District utilizes Facebook, X (Twitter)/@MSSD_TN, Instagram, and YouTube to keep staff, families, and community members engaged and informed. These accounts are meant to serve as an additional source of information to the community.

We would like to establish rules for engagement with our social media channels. Milan Special School District does not want to limit the comments of its community members, however, specific comments will not be tolerated on our social media channels. If a person fails to adhere to the guidelines below, they risk having their comments removed or their account banned from future comments.

Please do not post comments that are:
